LEGAL

Terms of service

LAST UPDATED 6 JULY 2026

These terms govern your use of MedEngly. They are written to be read: short sections, plain language, and the refund policy in full. By creating an account or using the free letter checker you agree to them.

01Who we are

MedEngly is operated by Sennar Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as MedEngly ("we", "us"). You can contact us at support@medengly.com. We aim to respond within 24 to 48 hours.

02What MedEngly is, and is not

MedEngly is an online preparation service for the Occupational English Test (OET): practice tasks, AI generated marking and feedback, and progress tracking.

MedEngly is an independent preparation service. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, OET or Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment. Feedback and estimated grades are practice feedback based on the published OET criteria; they are not official evaluations, and no feature of MedEngly predicts or guarantees the result of a real examination.

03Your account

You sign in with a magic link sent to your email address; there is no password. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure, because anyone who controls it can access your account. Accounts are personal: one account per person, not shared, and you must be at least 18 years old.

You can update your details, export your data, or delete your account at any time from the account page. Deletion is described in the privacy policy.

04Free plan and fair use

The free plan includes two fully marked practice letters, one marked speaking role play, the readiness dashboard, and limited practice banks. These limits are enforced by the service.

Paid plans include unlimited practice within a fair use limit of 10 marked letters and 10 role plays per day, which is generous for real preparation and exists to prevent abuse. Automated access, scraping, bulk extraction of practice content, or attempts to manipulate the marking system are not permitted.

05Plans, prices, and payment

Standard is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until cancelled. The Exam Bundle is a single payment covering a fixed three month period and does not renew. Current prices are shown on the site and at checkout; payments are processed by Stripe, and we never see or store your card details.

You can cancel Standard at any time from your account page. Cancellation stops future charges, and your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. If a renewal payment fails, access to paid features may be suspended until payment succeeds.

06Cooling off and refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. When you buy a MedEngly plan you ask us to supply the digital content immediately, and you acknowledge that once the supply has begun you lose the statutory 14 day right to cancel. This is stated at checkout, and it is why the paragraph below exists.

Separately from the statutory position, we offer a goodwill guarantee: if this is your first purchase and MedEngly is not for you, email support@medengly.com within 7 days of the purchase and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

This goodwill refund does not affect your statutory rights, including any rights you have where the service is faulty or not as described.

07Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • include real, identifiable patient information in practice submissions; practice scenarios are fictional, and your letters should be too;
  • submit content that is unlawful, or attempt to make the marking system behave unlawfully;
  • share, resell, or republish practice tasks, case notes, or feedback outside personal study;
  • probe, overload, or attempt to bypass the service's security or usage limits;
  • use MedEngly to build a competing dataset or service.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, with a refund of any unused period at our discretion except in cases of abuse.

08Your content

You own the letters you write and the recordings you make. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service: storing your submissions, processing them with our AI and speech providers to produce your marking, and showing them back to you. We do not publish your submissions.

Your submissions are used to improve the marking system only if you switch on calibration consent in your account settings, and any such use is anonymised. This is off by default.

09Our content

Practice tasks, case notes, role play cards, feedback formats, and the software itself belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own exam preparation only. All practice content is original: it is not, and must never be presented as, real OET examination material.

10AI feedback and its limits

Marking is produced by an AI system checked against reference materials, and it can still be wrong. Estimated grades are indicative and can differ from how a human examiner, or the real examination, would grade the same performance. Every feedback screen carries a dispute link; a human reviews disputed markings within 48 hours.

Feedback is exam preparation feedback only. It is not clinical, legal, or professional advice, and practice scenarios must not be used to guide real patient care.

11Availability and changes

We work to keep MedEngly available and fast, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or retire features, and we may update these terms; if a change is material we will tell you by email or in the product before it takes effect. The version on this page is always the current one.

12Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses, including the outcome of any examination, registration application, or employment decision.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections of your local law.

Independent preparation service. Not affiliated with, or endorsed by, OET or Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment.
